Steam’s refunding! Good news for PC gamers

Steam will allow you to return any game that you bought within a 14-day period

Since time immemorial, PC gamers have been pining for the ability to return bad games that they have bought via Steam. Well, it seems that Steam has heard our prayers and has introduced its own return policy.

Steam will allow you to return any game that you have bought within a 14-day period, provided that you have played the game for a period of less than two hours. You also have the chance to return any DLC content that you have bought in the same period provided you have not accessed the content at all. Moreover, Steam has highlighted that those who opted for a refund within the stipulated period, will receive the full amount paid in return. This also extends for pre-ordered games.

While the Steam community has welcomed this announcement, there are a few in the industry who have voiced valid concerns with the way that this facility currently stands. Indie developer Andrew Pellerano says “a lot of indie games can be completed well under two hours, and that can lead to people abusing this facility to essentially get these games for free.” But with this issue addressed, Steam’s looking at an overall 5/5 for their latest move.
