Telangana Assembly Speaker to disqualify TD rebels
Hyderabad: Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary on Tuesday assured a TD delegation that he would initiate steps to resolve the disqualification petitions against the four party MLAs, including minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, after getting discharged from hospital. The Speaker, who was admitted at Nims after suffering a heat stroke a week ago, met the TD delegation led by Legis-lature Party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Telangana Telugu Desam president L. Ramana and party legislators. The Speaker had no prior information that the delegation would meet him; they decided in the afternoon to call on him.
Speaking to the media outside Nims, Mr Dayakar Rao said Mr Chary had told them that he would be discharged in two days. He said the High Court had directed the Advocate-General to speak to the Speaker or his office to know the time needed to dispose of the disqualification petitions.
Earlier, at the TDLP office, Mr Dayakar Rao dared Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to initiate action against TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He criticised the tone and tenor of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao talking ill against Mr Naidu at Tuesday’s meeting at Nalgonda. As a gesture of solidarity with Mr A. Revanth Reddy, Mr Naidu directed all his ministers and party leaders to attend the engagement ceremony of the TD legislator’s daughter on June 11. He said he would also attend the function to send out the message that the entire party was backing the legislator.
