Ministry of Home Affairs denies hand in AAP minister's arrest

The MHA does not indulge in such activities, law takes it own course

Lucknow: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday denied the AAP charge that the arrest of Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar was a conspiracy hatched in his ministry. “The Ministry of Home Affairs does not indulge in such activities. The law takes it own course. There is no interference by the MHA in any such matter,” Mr Rajnath Singh said here.

POLICE CUSTODY: 49-year-old Tomar, MLA from Trinagar and a first-time minister, was remanded to four-day police custody by a Delhi court hours after he was arrested

 

POLICE SAY DEGREE FAKE: Investigators said that an FIR was registered and the Law Minister was arrested after nearly a month-long investigation established that the documents he submitted in 2011 to register with the Bar Council of Delhi were fake.

DELHI POLICE: According to him (Tomar), all educational certificates are allegedly true but all those who allegedly signed these documents say they have not signed it
