Cash-for-vote scam: ACB raids houses of Revanth Reddy, co-accused

Sources said ACB would file a memo to add more accused in the FIR depending on the evidence

Hyderabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau officials have stepped up investigation into the cash-for-vote scam and are probing multiple angles, not only to strengthen evidence against the accused, but also to zero in on those who funded the bribe amount and who conspired to buy MLAs. ACB searched the houses of MLA Revanth Reddy at MLA Colony at Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills, Bishop Harry Sebastian at Vikaspuri Colony and Mr Rudra Uday Simha’s at Haripuri Colony in Nagole.

ACB deputy superintendent of police Ashok Kumar said, “We are in the process of collecting documentary evidence. We are verifying the records seized. A hard disk was seized from the house of Sebastian and a computer from the house of another accused. We have collected bank statements and diaries with phone numbers and verifying them."

Sources said ACB would file a memo to add more accused in the FIR depending on the evidence. Call data records were analysed and many persons who were in touch with the accused identified. ACB officials, meanwhile, said that the accused didn’t reveal much during the interrogation. “We have produced all three accused in the court after medical examination in the hospital. They were shifted to judicial remand for 14 days,” said Mr Ashok Kumar.

In the court the accused complained of ill treatment in the SIT lock up during the police custody of ACB.
