Telangana Cabinet to discuss Revanth Reddy cash-for-vote episode
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao convened a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Revanth Reddy cash-for-vote episode, action against AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and countering the AP government’s demand for Governor’s Rule in Hyderabad.
The AP Cabinet had passed a resolution urging the Centre to implement the provisions of Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act to ensure Governor’s control of the police in the wake of Mr Revanth Reddy’s arrest and the likely notice to Mr Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged involvement in the case.
The TS Cabinet may reject the AP Cabinet’s demand to the Centre and insist that law and order of Hyderabad should continue with the TS government and to see that AP has no locus standi regarding the same.
The Cabinet is also likely to reject the allegation of the AP government that it tapped the phones of Mr Naidu and others and insist that it was an ACB trap during the course of which the conversations were recorded. The CM will ask his ministers to counter the AP CM and ministers’ propaganda against the TS government on the vote scam.
