Medical student ends life due to depression in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A 26-year-old postgraduate medical student from Gandhi Medical College allegedly committed suicide by injecting poison into her body on Tuesday at her house at Anupuram, Kushaiguda, in the city. Police said D. Ravali was found dead in the hall in her house in the evening by her parents. Police found a suicide note which indicated her resentment over a recent wedding proposal and her parents’ doubts about her. According to the police, the suicide note was addressed to her parents. The note read: “I am a virgin, and you should trust me.” Ravali narrated how she was depressed about her parents’ reaction to a recent wedding proposal, police said.
“She was found dead in her house by her parents when they returned. We suspect she injected some fluids into her veins, which caused the death," said N. Venkat Ramana of the Kushaiguda police. Ravali was a postgraduate student in anesthesiology, and police said she must have got the fluid from her institute’s lab. Investigation officials suspect that Ravali quarrelled with her parents. She was depressed over her parents reaction when she tried to explain that she did not have any affairs, the police inspector said. “We are still probing the case to find out what the real cause is,” said Mr Ramana.
