Bengaluru: Duo held for issuing fake job experience certificates to 840 aspirants
BENGALURU: The sleuths of the fraud and misappropriation squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have bust another fake job experience providing racket and arrested two men in this connection.
The accused have been identified as Mysoora Redy, 26, a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and a resident of Tavarekere Main Road in BTM Layout 1st Stage, and Manideep, 19, a native of Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh and a resident of Agara.
According to the police, they received information that fake certificates were being distributed at a house near Hanuman Temple in Agara in HSR Layout police station limits. They raided the house and arrested two people. Mysoora Reddy had rented a house in his friend’s name and was operating from there.
He had letterheads of companies that never existed and gave fake experience certificate, salary slip, identity card, offer letter and other documents related to the employment to unemployed youth who approached him to get a new job. He used to charge Rs 15,000-25,000 from each candidate.
“They mostly gave fake certificates to those who aspired to join software companies. They also had a BPO kind of set up and answered calls from HR executives of other companies where the candidates, who had got fake certificates from the accused, had applied for jobs.
They allegedly misled the executives that the candidates were working with their firm, which never existed. Investigations revealed that they were giving fake certificates to 60-75 candidates every month. They were running the business from the last one year and have given certificates to around 840 candidates,” the police explained.
The police said that they will also take up cases against those who got jobs by producing fake certificates. Two laptops, a printer, scanner, 18 landline phone sets, two mobile phones and fake certificates have been seized from the accused. A case is registered in HSR Layout police station in this connection.
