A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Kazakhstan after donning a dress and trying to sit an exam in his girlfriend's place. Ayan Zhademov’s 17-year-old girlfriend was so nervous about sitting a university admission test, Zhademov decided to take the exam on her behalf, Metro reports.
He slipped into his girlfriend’s white blouse, grey skirt and completed the ruse with some makeup and a black wig. However, exam invigilators became suspicious and began to question the young man. His deep voice gave him away.
The 20-year-old Kazakhstan student went beyond normal boyfriend duty and decided to take the examination for his sweetheart. “We suspected it might be another woman that had taken the candidate’s place, but we never suspected it was a man that had taken her place. At least not until he started speaking,” said an exam board spokesman, according to Yahoo UK. Zhademov was fined 1,400 GBP—or a little over $2100 USD—for his antics.
The young boy is being heralded as romantic hero, but looks like his girlfriend will have to wait until the following year to re-take the test.
