Telangana vows water for all
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday said that he would ensure every home in the state would get drinking water and power in next three to four years time.
“By 2019, Telangana will have 25,000 mw of power with several units being set up at a cost of Rs 91,500 crore. Similarly, every home will have water tap under the Rs 40,000-crore Telangana water grid project. Both these schemes are unmatched and no one ever thought about it,” he remarked.
Mr Rao unveiled the pylon for Telangana Water Grid at Choutuppal and Yadadri Thermal Power project at Damercherla in Nalgonda district here on Monday.
Later addressing a public meeting Nagarjunasagar, the Chief Minister explained the series of welfare and developmental schemes taken up by the TRS government during the past one year, especially the project to supply drinking water to fluoride affected Nalgonda district.
“No one knows the pain of Nalgonda district but I know. I travelled the length and breadth of Nalgonda and even wrote a poem in association with Despathi Srinivas,” Mr Rao said referring to fluoride problem in the district.
