CM Chandrababu Naidu's tape cooked up by Telangana, says Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday said that the voice in a purported conversation telecast on several channels did not belong to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The government took the stand after Mr Naidu held a high-level meeting with DGP J.V. Ramudu and top officers late on Sunday night at his residence after the tapes were telecast.
Briefing the media after the meeting, government communications adviser Parakala Prabhakar said the tapes were leaked by T News which is run from the TRS office.
He said the Telangana state government had prepared the tapes by weaving together segments from different speeches of Mr Naidu on various occasions. The tapes were released to defame Mr Naidu’s image. To a question, Mr Prabhakar said, “Nobody has the guts to arrest Naidu on this issue.”
