Tune Terrain connects independent artistes and music lovers on a web platform

Hyderabad: “There is an opportunity wherever there is a problem,” says Pratyush Nigam, the technical advisor of TuneTerrain.com, a start-up which tries to connect artistes, event managers, venues and music listeners across the globe, allowing them to associate and interact with each other along with streamlining the booking of artistes on a Web platform.
The four co-founders of the start-up are Kshitij Ingle, Pratyush Nigam, both of whom are IIIT-H grads along with Mumbai-based Naiel Shenoy and Lokesh Khemani. All of them manage their start-up alongside their day jobs. While Naiel, Kshitij and Lokesh are with leading startups in Mumbai, Pratyush works at an MNC in Hyderabad.
Pratyush says, “Naiel and Kshitij were discussing an idea in the live entertainment space and bounced it off me.” First, the group tried to come up with something on the lines of the music-streaming service for independent music.
“However, we weren’t able to get any funding for the idea because the investors we approached pointed out that the idea was not scalable for the Indian Web space.” adds Pratyush.
By then, the group was in touch with several artistes and artist agencies, discussing their problems and concerns — and soon enough they had a concrete idea to go back to their storyboard.
“We had musicians telling us that sometimes the bookings for a live event weren’t credible enough, the payments were untimely and occasionally the organisers would even cancel at a short notice. So, we thought why not create a platform which would serve as a marketplace for interested organisers to connect with artistes, book them and also enable people to buy tickets for the event as well.”
TuneTerrain’s website went live early this year and till date they have had around 160 artistes on their portal along with over 250 live music venues and 600 listed events.
