There has been a lot of speculation in the press as to why Anupam Kher opted out of Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa. It is, apparently, not the unavailability of dates, but the nature of the part that was offered to Anupam that made the actor abandon the film.
Says the source, “As the shooting progressed, Anupam became progressively aware that his role was of little consequence. The film’s entire focus was on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character followed by Irrfan Khan. At this stage in his career, Anupam would like to focus on the quality of his work.”
When we asked Anupam about his exit from Jazbaa, he brushed away the controversy. “It’s over and done with. I am not doing the film. I’ve worked with Sanjay Gupta before and I’d love to work with him again when he has a good role for me. Currently, my hands are full with films, plays and motivational lectures,” he said.
