Hyderabad: The Telangana Shobha Yatra will be organised from People’s Plaza, Necklace Road to Tank Bund on Sunday as part of the concluding ceremony of the first state Formation Day celebrations, which began on the night of June 1. Ministers, MLAs, MPs and other public representatives along with people will take part in this rally.
The TS government has planned a grand fete on Tank Bund on Sunday between 5 pm and 7 pm by conducting cultural programmes involving 5,000 artistes highlighting Telangana’s history and culture besides displaying fireworks, laser shows and 3D lighting. Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister, K. Chandr-asekhar Rao, will participate in the event on Tank Bund.
Minister for commercial taxes Talasani Srinivas Yadav reviewed the arrangements with officials at the Secretariat. Mr Yadav asked officials to make foolproof arrangements around Hussain-sagar to ensure that the event passes off peacefully without causing any problem to thousands of people, mostly from the city, who are expected to converge at Tank Bund for the event. TRS MLA and noted Telangana Dhoom Dhaam artist, Rasamayi Balakishan, who is also the chairman of Telangana Saamskrutika Sarathi, has planned a series of cultural programmes on Tank Bund for the event exclusively desig-ned for the purpose.
The Chief Minister, who also reviewed the arrangements for the event on Friday with officials has entrusted the responsibility of mobilising all the public representatives for the event right from sarpanches at village-level to zilla parishad chairmen at the district level to the ministers in all the districts. It was decided to distribute 1 lakh laddus for free to participants on the Tank Bund.
