Karnataka: PU department to take action against coaching centre assuring pass marks
Bengaluru: Appearing for the II PUC supplementary examination which starts from June 25 and not sure about success? Have a look at this advertisement. A coaching center from Hanumanthanagar, Basavanagudi of the city has come out with a strange assurance. 100 per cent pass with good results or fee refund! The sign-board is set up inside the compound of the state PU department.
According to the II PUC supplementary examination schedule, the examinations will be held between June 26 and July 4 for all the unsuccessful candidates of the March – April final examination.
Many coaching firms have offers regarding crash courses to clear the examination. To secure a CET/ COMEDK UGET ranking for higher education, students must clear the examination or waste an entire year, so students take tuitions.
An announcement made by a coaching firm has attracted several students, offering courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in line with the Gurukula system. Limited seats are available for students and a 100 per cent success rate has been assured. If any student does not get a good result or fails in the examination, his money will be refunded.
Many in the Pre-University department are of the opinion that assuring success in any examination is an unethical practice. “How can anyone assure 100 per cent success along with good marks? Sorry to see this hoarding inside the PU department compound wall. Advertising the coaching centers is itself a wrong unhealthy practice. The department is cracking down all those who assure good marks at the time of college admission. But this announcement is really offensive,” said an officer.
