Hindu Munnani cadres protest removal of flags
Nearly 50 members of the Hindu Munnani laid siege to the Kattoor police station
Coimbatore: Nearly 50 members of the Hindu Munnani laid siege to the Kattoor police station after the cops removed the party flags and banners put up across the city for the party’s conference at the CODISSIA grounds on Sunday.
The party members had put up flags and banners in several places, including Kattoor, 100 feet road, Rathnapuri and Kannapan Nagar. The cadres of Hindu Munnani claimed that they had already sought permission to put up the flags but the police had deliberately removed the flags and banners.
Condemning the highhandedness of cops, the members laid seige to the Kattoor police station. Tense moments prevailed as the cadres shouted slogans and refused to budge.
After a two hour discussion between the cops including Inspector Jose, and the Hindu Munnani cadres, the cops handed back the seized flags and permitted the party to put up their flags.
