Funds come pouring in for capital development
Funds roll in from NRIs, farmers and many from the state
Guntur: People from different parts of the state and Telugu NRIs from various countries have offered donations to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Capital Development Fund’ for construction of the capital city before the much awaited bhoomi puja for capital construction at Mandadam village of Tullur Mandal in Guntur district on Saturday. Local TD leader, Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar offered about Rs 12 lakh donated by the farmers of his constituency. Local ZPTC leaders, MPPs, and other village level local body sarpanches offered lakhs of rupees to the CM and appealed him to construct a world class capital for the state.
Farmers Bellamkonda Narasimha Rao, Danekula Ramarao, Y. Sailaja, M. Sai Meenakshi, Danekula Yellaiah, Bejawada Sambasiva Rao, Bezawada Narendra, and others who gave their farmland to the state government under Land Pooling Scheme, also offered lakhs of rupees to the CDF for construction of a world class city.
A class IV student Akula Esha, who came skating all the way from Tirupati to Amaravati, offered her small time savings to the CM and said she wants to see a city more beautiful than Singapore. Touched by the little girl’s gesture, when Mr Naidu asked how much money was there in her piggy bank, she answered, “No idea.” Along with her, class IX student Harshat Vaibhav, class X student Rohith and their skating master Rajesh also met the Chief Minister.0
