CM Chandrababu Naidu sees rain as a good omen for capital
Owing to the drizzle, inauguration of the CM’s camp office was postponed
GUNTUR: The pleasant climate at the bhoomi puja site on Saturday caused the postponement of the inauguration of the CM’s camp office at Vijayawada. The day began with rain in most parts of Guntur and Vijayawada, casting a doubt on the bhoomi puja being held on schedule. However, there was not much rain at the bhoomi puja site, Survey No. 136, Mandadam, but the eather stayed cool. Mr Naidu was apparently pleased with the rain, seeing it as auspicious, and stayed at the bhoomi puja site for longer than scheduled. Due to this, the muhurtham for the inauguration of the camp office passed.
The inaugural has now been scheduled for June 8. Mr Naidu speaking at the bhooma puji said it was a historic day for the people of AP. “The bhoomi pooja in Amaravati is symbolic of a million dreams turning into reality,” he said. He recalled that whenever N.T. Rama Rao started programmes including the Mahanadu, it always rained. “It happened once again as the Gods including the rain god are showering their mercy and blessings for the world class new capital,” Mr Naidu said.
He said that in his heart he wanted to stay on due to the pleasant weather, and so he opted to skipping the CM camp office. Mr Naidu said he had to fight with Opposition parties and had to secure funds to build Amaravati, which was very difficult. “But I will do it for the sake of the Telugu people,” Mr Naidu said.
He said this was not the platform to explain the TD government’s achievements; he would explain the worsening of politics and government achievements during the Maha Sankalpa Deeksha. He said the deeksha would be held front of the Nagarjuna University where his government took oath last year.
Alleging that the then UPA government had divided the state withoutgiving AP a capital, Mr Naidu said the TD government had chosen Amaravati as the new capital as it situated in the middle of the state.
