Sandalwood actor Raghavendra Rajkumar charged with abetting suicide

An accountant working with Vajreshwari Combines committed suicide by hanging

BENGALURU: An accountant working with premier Sandalwood production house, Vajreshwari Combines, committed suicide by hanging in a lodge in Cottonpet. Following the incident, family members of the deceased have filed an abetment to suicide case against actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, who runs the production house, and his wife Mangala.

The deceased has been identified as Umesh Kotekar, 49, a native of Udupi and a resident of Nagasandra near Tyagarajanagar. He was reportedly working with Vajreshwari Combines. According to the police, Mr. Kotekar, who left his house on Tuesday, did not return. He checked into room number 202 of Manjunatha Paradise lodge on Cottonpet Main Road on the same day. On Thursday evening, the lodge staff found him hanging in the room. They soon informed the police about the incident.

“In his police complaint, Mr. Kotekar’s son Vinayak stated that his father was harassed by Mr. Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife over an alleged misappropriation of funds in the production house. Based on his complaint, a case of abetment to suicide against Mr. Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife has been registered in Cottonpet police station,” a senior police officer said.
