Nestle forced to withdraw maggi noodles in India
Nestle had announced it was withdrawing the product “despite the product being safe”
New Delhi: India’s food safety regulator, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), on Friday ordered Nestle to recall all nine approved variants of Maggi instant noodles from the market and stop their production and sale.
FSSAI also asked the company to recall its Maggi Oats Masala Noodles and any other product for which risk assessment has not been undertaken and product approval granted.
Nestle had announced late on Thursday night that it was withdrawing the product “despite the product being safe”.
