Lokayukta Special Court on Friday granted interim anticipatory bail to former Karnataka CM

BENGALURU: The Lokayukta Special Court on Friday granted interim anticipatory bail to former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in connection with a land denotification case. The case is related to denotification of 1.11 acre of land in Matadahalli Layout in R.T. Nagar.

The Lokayukta police had filed an FIR, according to which the process to denotify the land began in 2007, when Mr. Kumaraswamy was the CM, but was denotified in 2010, when BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa was the chief minister.

Both were accused of a criminal conspiracy, and the FIR was registered on May 6. Judge V.G. Bopaiah granted the interim anticipatory bail to Mr Yeddyurappa. Mr. Kumaraswamy was granted anticipatory bail in the case on May 28.
