Haritha haram to turn Telangana green
NIZAMABAD: Students will play a key role in extending green cover in Nizamabad district soon. As part of Haritha Haram programme, they will plant saplings at their residences and agriculture fields. The district administration has decided to involve students in the eco-friendly programme from the new academic year onwards.
Initially, the programme will be launched in 446 high schools in the district. For this purpose 72 cluster resource persons (CRP) will be appointed as mandal coordinators. In every school either science, social studies or physical education teacher will be deputed as eco-friendly teacher. They will identify one student from each class to take up Haritha Haram programme.
The trained student will lead a team of 60 students, who will plant and protect saplings at their respective residences or agriculture fields.
