PC George calls for defeat of corrupt forces

Mr George said the government was neck deep in corruption especially in the bar bribe case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Government Chief Whip P C George on Thursday called upon the voter of Aruvikkara to defeat the representative of the corrupt government in the forthcoming of by poll.

He was inaugurating the convention of Anti Corruption Democratic Front (ACDF) a conglomeration of political parties and social organisations including Kerala Congress (Secular), Vaikundaswami Dharma Pracharana Sabha (VSDP), SDPI and DHRM.

Mr George said the government was neck deep in corruption especially in the bar bribe case and the voters should teach the corrupt ministers a lesson in the bypoll.

George introduced the ACDF candidate K. Das, former principal of Chalai Government Vocational Higher Secondary School and a member of Nadar community.

The former government chief whip said the ACDF candidate, who besides having a clean image, was quite popular among the voters and would emerge victorious in the contest.

Das, 60, was selected as ACDF candidate after a referendum in which he secured 5768 of the total 8,740 votes polled for the four probables.

Apart from the candidate, VSDP chairman Vishnupuram Chandrashekharan, SDPI state president K M Ashraf, DHRM leader Saleena Prakkanam HSDPI leader Saleena Prakkanam addressed the convention.
