Rajesh is involved in about six cases in Cyberabad police commissionerate

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police commissioner has issued orders to detain notorious goonda and land-grabber Gunti Rajesh alias Raju, 34, a resident of Gunti Jangaiah Complex in LB Nagar, under the PD (Preventive Detention) Act. He is the prime accused in the rape of a 24-year-old BTech student who later committed suicide. Police said that Rajesh who heads a gang is a habitual criminal and is involved in rape, kidnap, extortion, impersonation, cheating, criminal trespass, damaging property, criminal conspiracy, intimidation and land-grabbing. He had been creating panic in Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram and Chaitanyapuri.

Police said Gunti Rajesh had developed friendship with a woman (now deceased) and proposed to marry her. He claimed that he was unmarried though he was married and that he had about Rs 7 crore worth property. Though she refused, Rajesh clicked her pictures and started blackmailing her. He and his friends sexually exploited her due to which she committed suicide.

Rajesh is involved in about six cases in Cyberabad police commissionerate and is currently lodged in prison facing trial. Police said there was a possibility of his release on bail and engaging in criminal activities. Police said that no one was coming forward to testify against him due to fear and that it had become necessary to detain him.
