E-learning introduced in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Anantapur

The lessons in the first year syllabus have been uploaded

Anantapur: Despite having nearly half of the colleges in Andhra Pradesh under its jurisdiction, the JNTU-A has not focused on improving the academic standards of students in all the affiliated colleges in Rayalaseem and Nellore distrticts so far. JNTU-A has three colleges- Anantapur, Kalikiri and Pulivendula in the region and 94 private colleges are affiliated to it.

JNTUA Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Lal Kishore said all measures are being implemented to improve the quality and standards of education at all colleges. Finding that poor standards of the faculty was hitting academics in the colleges, the university launched e-learning process this year. “All the private and consistent colleges of the university will be provided free Wi-fi facility on college and hostel campuses. This will help students have a chance to get their doubts on academics clarified by listening to lessons of subject experts from standard universities at the national and international levels,” said the Vice-Chancellor. Further, he said that the colleges were directed to install CC cameras on the campus to check students' activities.

The first year students of all engineering branches can download and learn lessons through e-learning process from this academic year. The lessons in the first year syllabus have been uploaded and that of the other three years will also be put online.
