Tollywood is heading for a mega clash with the makers of Rudhramadevi announcing that the film will release on June 26.
Gearing up to release Rudhramadevi on the 26th of June Worldwide! Need all your wishes, the film’s director Gunasekhar tweeted.
The much-awaited film, starring Anushka and Rana Daggubati, will thus release just two weeks before the mega film Baahubali.
“If the two films are released one after the other, the audiences might get confused. Both films have common actors like Anushka and Rana, so audiences might get confused which film they are publicising for,” says a top producer.
Also, both are period films. “One is a folk subject and the other one is historical. The question is whether Rudhramadevi will be able to compete with the publicity of Baahubali,” a source says. After these two films, another big film, Srimanthudu, will release on July 17.
