Has your Skype been crashing? Here’s why!

After Apple’s iMessage bug, a similar virus has now hit Skype. An ‘http://’ string, which was first spotted by Venture Beat, has apparently been causing the video calling website to crash. The bug has affected Windows, Android and iOS users. However, the Skype for Mac and the touch-optimised Skype for Windows 8.1 do not seem to have been affected.

Skype has said that it’s aware of the issue and it is working on it. Till Skype works on a bug fix patch, the affected users may try a temporary solution, which is to delete the bug message receive and install the older version of the client.
