Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurates Rs 21.54 crore road overbridge in tirupattur

Chennai: The Chief Minister, J. Jayalalithaa, on Tuesday inaugurated a road overbridge constructed at a cost of Rs 21.54 crore at the railway level crossing near Tirupattur in Vellore district through video-conference at the secretariat. She also inaugurated eight road over bridges and three road under bridges at railway level crossings.

Besides, 59 small bridges and three travellers bungalows and an administrative block for state highways department were thrown open to the public, an official press release said adding that projects totally costing Rs 367.33 crore were inaugurated by the Chief Minister.

The new Tirupattur railway level crossing bridge will benefit local motorists to reach Ambur, Vellore, Vaniyambadi, Chennai and Krishnagiri and also reduce the travel time between Chennai and Tirupattur, the release said.
