K Jana Reddy criticises Revanth Reddy’s rant
Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Assembly and former home minister K. Jana Reddy on Tuesday strongly condemned the comments made by Telugu Desam MLA Revanth Reddy against him in the video footage of the ‘cash-for-vote’ episode.
“I am unable to decide whether to launch an agitation against such cheap politics being indulged in by both Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Telugu Desam or opt for retirement from politics,” said Mr Jana Reddy while addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office.
The Congress leader said that the politics of horse-trading, defections and other unethical means was not good for democracy. I am in serious consultation with my party leaders, followers and intellectuals on what should be done next.
Living with politics being followed by the the politicians in the Telugu Desam and the TRS is not suitable for people like me who never indulged in such unethical means, he added.
When pointed out that Mr Revanth Reddy had claimed that he was encouraged by several senior leaders including Jana Reddy, the Opposition leader said, “Revanth Reddy’s comments and his actions are childish. Whenever I wish to retire I would like another senior Congress leader to replace me but certainly not a person like Revanth Reddy.”
