Global Investors Meet preparations put on right track
Chennai: The upcoming global investors meet, slated to be held in September this year, has opened up new challenges for the officials of the state industries department. They have now been entrusted with the task of arranging help desk at the Chennai international airport, chauffeur driven high-end cars, scout for translators and PRO ahead of the global meet. The state government is likely to block as many as 1,500 plush, executive hotel rooms in south Chennai for foreign and domestic industry captains, sources said adding that travel agents have been identified to take care of the logistics of the overseas visitors to the meet.
“We are hoping for 3,000 delegates, mostly foreigners, and another 1,000 invitations will be extended to local industrialists and visitors. We are making arrangements to support a floating footfall of 10,000 and the two-day exhibition will have spacious halls to accommodate all our guests,” a government official said. Branding, campaigning exercises and production of short films are likely to be kick-started this month, the official said. Additional promotional and road shows have also been planned.
Also, knowledge and event partners are also coming up with fresh ideas, he pointed out.The website of Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2015 is being periodically updated to help investors with information and also to showcase success stories of Tamil Nadu industries, said another official.Interview on Chennai’s specialty and government promises delivered for multinational companies such as Ford is also streamed through YouTube. More promos are on the way. The website has also been made interactive with power point presentations on the state’s industrial policies, land bank availability and guidelines for participation of companies, the official said.
