CM K Chandrasekhar Rao announces 25,000 jobs, houses, sops
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao asserted that the one-year rule of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government had proved sceptics wrong.
It had proved false the propaganda that Telangana would face huge problems and plunge into darkness and would be doomed if the state was bifurcated.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the state’s formation, the CM announced notification and recruitment of 25,000 government jobs in July, construction of 50,000 double bedroom houses for the poor at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore (Rs 5.4 lakh per house) this year and regularisation of all contract employees from July.
The government was determined to implement 12 per cent reservations for minorities and Girijans after submission of the Chellappa Committee report, he said adding that he would ensure Telangana to be a power surplus state by the end of 2018.
Addressing the crowds during the colourful first anniversary celebrations of Telangana state at Secunderabad Parade Grounds the Chief Minister said that Telangana had suffered in united Andhra Pradesh.
“I extend warm greetings on the first anniversary of Telangana. I offer condolences to Telangana martyrs. After a long struggle, sacrifices and movements, Telangana was achieved on June 2 last year. It was a historic occasion. We are celebrating the first anniversary with gusto,” he said.
“I have a lot to say. Some programmes not in the election manifesto and not announced during polls were also taken up. With your blessing, we will move forward,” he added.
Stating that for the first time in the history of the state and country, Rs 28,000 crore had been earmarked for welfare, he mentioned schemes like Aasara, Arogya Lakshmi, Kalyana Laxmi, Shadi Mubarak and others, pay hikes to various sections of employees, revival of RTC and if needed, special grants from the Budget etc.
