Watch: The grim yet gripping trailer of ‘Wazir’
Mumbai: The extended teaser of Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Wazir’ takes us one step ahead of where the first teaser ended.
The grim yet gripping teaser sees the story unfold with sharp action sequences editing to fit the teaser to perfection. This time all the actors seen neck deep in their characters as ‘Panditji’ (Amitabh Bachchan) lays down the game plan. ‘You blink you miss’ is how you must see the over a minute second instalment of the teaser.
Speaking at the launch the ace producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “It was a privilege to work with Amitabh and Farhan, who are the best actors today. Really happy to have these two actors on board. The film is still in the process of editing. Raju (Hirani) is helping us a lot with the editing. It took us five years to write the story.”
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, 'Wazir' which was orginally titled 'Do', presents Amitabh Bachchan essaying the role of a wheelchair-ridden chess master while Farhan Akhtar is seen playing a tough cop. “I have been directing a lot of action sequences however I haven’t done any such sequence. I also punched Zoya by mistake once while trying to learn action sequences earlier so I left it there and went to try my hands in the rom-com genre. But now I have come back with Wazir and I have a small team who helped me a lot to learn the sequences,” shared Farhan.
The film that went on floor in September is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and also features Aditi Rao Hydari, as its leading lady. Meanwhile Bejoy at the event also revealed that John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh will also be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
The bone chilling teaser ends with Bachchan’s grave voice reciting the following lines:
"Khel Khel Mein, Khel Khel Ki, Khel Khel Ye, Aa Jayega,
Haar Jeet Se, Haar Jeet Ke, Jeet Haar Sikhayega,
Khel Khel Mein..."
