SRINAGAR: Four militants and a civilian have been killed in a fire fight raging in Tanghdar area close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district since Sunday. The Army said that five bullet riddled corpses have been found and retrieved from the site of encounter. “Four of them are terrorists.
The fifth body, that of an unidentified person, has been handed over to the police,” a defence spokesperson said. He added that four AK-47 rifles and one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) were found on the slain militants. Army and police sources here said that a group of heavily armed militants believed to had infiltrated from across the border.
