Hyderabad University students protest ‘ban’ on IIT-Madras student group

More than 100 students participated in the rally and raised slogans

Hyderabad: University of Hyderabad’s student members of the Ambedkar Students’ Association staged a rally and burnt an effigy to protest the “ban” on a student organisation at IIT-Madras.

More than 100 students participated in the rally and raised slogans against the HRD ministry and the administration of IIT-Madras. They said the derecognised student group, Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle, must get its “recognised” status back and educational institutions should not curb the right to critical reasoning of students.
