All set for AP deeksha

People, government mood upbeat
Hyderabad/Vijayawada: A year after the bifurcation, the general feeling in Andhra Pradesh is of optimism. “The year has seen many ups and downs, but we see light at the end of the tunnel,” said IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, summing up the mood of the people and the government.
Mr Raghunatha Reddy was briefing the media after the state Cabinet meeting here on Monday.
“It is time to pledge and renew our resolve to build a new, modern, prosperous, green, self-sufficient and self-reliant AP. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lead the state in this endeavour by participating in the main Nava Nirmana Deeksha function in Vijayawada between 9 am and 9.30 am,” the minister said.
He also sought to improved the relations with Telangana, saying that resolving differences through consultations was the way forward. “This Nava Nirmana Deeksha is not against the Telangana state or its people. After all, we are all one family and differences can be resolved through mutual consultations. This is our view,” he said.
As part of the deeksha, rallies would be held in all mandals, municipalities and districts. They will converge from different directions at one place and a public meeting will follow.
“All those who had been steadfast in their opposition to bifurcation and had participated in the Samaikyandhra movement should participate in the rallies. A huge public rally will be organised on June 8 at Nagarjuna University where the Cabinet took oath,” Mr Raghunatha Reddy said.
Several leaders from Hyderabad, including some employees, have already gone to Vijayawada to participate in the deeksha. In Vijayawada, arrangements have been made for the deeksha that will be conducted at the busy Benz Circle in the city.
