Sunny Leone's 'Mastizaade' faces unending censor woes
Mumbai: Sunny Leone’s ‘Mastizaade’ was supposed to be one of the boldest sex comedies of the year. The film which was slated to release on May 1, didn’t get clearance from the Censor Board which resulted in the delay of its release.
However now, according to reports the film’s content is too bold for viewing and hence is not cleared for release. The makers have approached the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal after the Censor Board rejected certification to the sex comedy for the second time.
The makers were anticipating the Board to recommend several cuts but were shell shocked when the panel out rightly refused to clear the film.
Apparently, a female presiding board member had recommended an ‘A’ certificate along with several cuts, instead of rejecting it altogether. But her views were not taking into consideration.
As of now, the decision over 'Mastizaade' is still pending, awaiting a reply from the Tribunal. The film directed by Milap Zaveri also stars Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das in the lead.
