Opposition welcomes KCR plan to quit on MLC poll
Opposition parties welcomed the statement and said this will teach the CM a good lesson
Hyderabad: Opposition Congress and Telugu Desam on Saturday welcomed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement on dissolution of the Telangana Assembly and said it would be better for him so that the people of Telangana can teach him a lesson on his defection politics.
While addressing the TRS MLAs on Friday at Telangana Bhavan, the CM reportedly threatened to recommend dissolution of the Assembly. Speaking to the media at the TD headquarters on Saturday, Telangana TD Legislature Party Leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao and other TD MLAs said if the CM has any scruples he should recommend dissolution of the Assembly and go for a fresh mandate. Mr Dayakar Rao said ever since Mr Chandrasekhar Rao became the CM he started wooing Opposition MLAs into TRS and is still targeting others in order to see the TD does not exist in Telangana. “He knows that TRS’ fifth candidate is going to lose elections. “We are now confident more TRS MLAs will vote for the TD candidate in the MLC polls to teach a lesson to Mr Rao for his politics of defections,” Mr Errabelli said.
At a separate media conference, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Shab-bir Ali said that the CM should honour his own words and seek a fresh mandate at the earliest.
