Babu error puts Bengaluru PU student in a fix

The student received the photocopy of another student

HASSAN: A second year pre-university student, who had sought a photocopy of her Physics answerscript from the Department of Pre-University Education, Bengaluru, got a shock of her life when she received the photocopy of another student.

Pyarel Fernandes, a resident of Sakleshpur in Hassan and a student of St Aloysius College Mangaluru, had secured 81 marks in Physics, 91 in Chemistry and 89 in Biology. As she was unsatisfied with her result, she had sought for photocopies from the Department of Pre-University Education to decide on whether to go for revaluation or not.

While she is yet to get answer scripts for Chemistry and Biology, the mail sent to her by the officials concerned to her Sakleshpur residence on Friday shocked her. The register number of Pyarel is 230929, but the photocopy she received was of register number 231212.

An upset Pyarel told DC on Saturday, “It’s carelessness on part of the department. I am yet to receive photocopies of my answer scripts of Biology and Chemistry. Usually, students get them from the Board in about five days, but I received the photocopy after nine days and that too of another student.”

“I do not know what to do. Last date for applying for re-valuation is on June 3, while CET results would be announced on June 1. This carelessness on part of Department of PU Education would affect students at the time of securing seats for professional education,” she said.

Some of Pyarel’s friends, who had applied for photocopies of their answer scripts, have not received them.
