Maggi row: Vidya Balan bats for Madhuri Dixit
Mumbai: Madhuri Dixit landed in a soup for endorsing Maggi with the Haridwar Food and Drug Administration today serving a notice to her on the claims made in the advertisement. However Vidya Balan who has been a brand ambassador of reputed brands, feels holding actors responsible isn't fair as they are not involved with the research.
Maggi recently came under the scanner after samples collected by Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration were reported to be containing Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead more than the permissible limits.

In a interview to Absolute India, Vidya put her weight behind Madhuri and said, "It is very responsible brand. I am sure it is a great brand for Madhuri to endorse and that's why she also ended up doing it. One can't go to the research lab and find out what's wrong with the product. It is a respectable brand which is why Madhuri is doing it. I think it is unfair to say that actor should be more responsible. Imagine, we are eating that for more than 20 to 30 years. It's not Madhuri's fault that today researchers have found wrong things. How would she know? We are not involved in research?"
