AIADMK gets poll strategies in place
Chennai: Heavyweights of ruling AIADMK are found with xerox copies of total electoral rolls of R.K. Nagar where their party supremo J. Jayalalithaa is contesting. “Of the total 2.4 lakh electorates, women voters out number men and this is an added advantage for Amma and for every 10,000 votes a minister will monitor and local functionaries will micro manage every every street in R K Nagar”, a party senior said.
“There are totally around 816 roads including 261 bus route main roads in the labour dominated R.K. Nagar and we are now working on micro level poll management and by next week specific booths will be earmarked for every party functionaries and this is a general phenomenon followed by AIADMK and the DMK during every elections”, he said adding that this time the entire Chennai AIADMK would erupt campaigning for Amma.
“We are waiting for Amma to finish the nomination process and once when the paper work is done. Party poll offices will be started in all the wards and there are seven corporation wards in the constituency and all the wards are represented by the AIADMK councillors and we are enthralled and waiting for instructions from district secretaries and senior leaders”, said an enthused corporation councillor J.K. Ramesh of R K Nagar, while distributing sweets celebrating the party headquarters announcement naming Jayalalithaa as the R K Nagar candidate.
“North Chennai has been a neglected area for several decades and now with Jayalalithaa tipped to contest, the corporation workers are now seen more active sweeping and clearing garbage,” said K. Akbar, trader in Tondiarpet, and we hope that our area will witness a change as it now earned limelight, the local resident added.
