COIMBATORE: Coimbatore's major industrial fair, the Intec 2015 will be held at the Codissia trade fair complex from June 5 to 9, said P.N.Balasubramanian, Chairman of the expo.
The event aims to create a knowledge sharing platform and lay a roadmap for the Indian Manufacturing Industry. This year, the micro, small and medium engineering units in Coimbatore will get an opportunity to get into the aerospace sector.
Texas Ventures is organising the ‘Global Manufacturing Cluster Vision 2020’ (GMCV 2020) on June 5 along with Codissia. Aravind S. Bharadwaj, senior vice-president of advanced technology & services, automotive & farm equipment sectors of M&M Ltd, will address the programme. He too wants auto component vendors in Coimbatore to get into the aerospace sector.
The aerospace industry promises a good future and once Coimbatore industries hold the opportunity provided by them, they would have to expand their businesses, he added.
Representatives from India, Japan, Germany, China, Singapore, Sharjah and Switzerland will take part in the expo, which is expected to draw about 50,000 business visitors with a turnover of approximately '600 crore.
“This year the response is better than last year. We are going to conduct this event once every two years,” said the chairman of Intec 2015. Nearly 30 foreign companies are taking part in the show and nearly 162 new clients have joined this year.
Speaking to the media, V- Sundaram, vice-president of Codissia said, “In the last two months, the automotive sector has seen growth in car sales. We expect these companies to begin executing their orders in the next quarter and become a component supplier by September.”
