Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao ridicules Telugu Desam Mahanadu

Desam afraid of unfulfilled promises in AP, suggests TS minister
Hyderabad: IT and panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was holding the Telugu Desam Mahanadu in Hyderabad since he was scared of being kicked out by the people of AP for failing to keep his electoral promises.
He called Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a “61-year-old young man” and hoped that the latter ran the government and the TRS for the next 20 to 30 years. Stating that the CM was a “maha vruksham” (big tree) and all were working under him without any differences, he said, “His philosophy is our philosophy.”
The IT minister was replying to queries at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Hyderabad Press Club here. When told about Mr Naidu’s criticism of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS government at the Mahanadu, the minister said that the state had already been divided and contrary to fears and rumours, it was making rapid strides in all sectors including power and investment.
“Mr Naidu indulges in petty politics. He is holding the Mahanadu here (Hyderabad) since people of his state will kick him for his failure to keep his election promises. It’s like me talking about the TRS in Assam,” he said.
Mr Rama Rao defended plans to acquire 11 acre of Osmania University land saying: “The land in question is at the border of the university campus and not near the Arts College. Earlier 200 acres were taken but there were no protests. Why?” he asked.
On the TRS government not giving credit to the Congress for the formation of Telangana in the new textbooks, he said if AICC president Sonia Gandhi had to be given credit, the party should also be ready to take debit. “The victor writes the history,” he remarked.
