CBSE Class X results: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh outstanding
Both the states overtake the national pass percentage of 97.32
Hyderabad: Students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh surpassed the national average pass percentage in CBSE Class X results that were announced on Thursday. While the national pass percentage was 97.32, AP students achieved a higher pass percentage of 99.86, while TS recorded 99.72.
From TS, as many as 16,237 students from 189 schools, which included 24 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 10 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 155 private schools, had appeared for the exams. Of them, 16,191 passed. From AP, 14,070 students from 156 schools, which included 27 KVs, 15 JNVs and 114 private schools, sat for the exams. Of them, 14,051 passed.
Girls outperformed boys by securing a higher pass percentage. The percentage of girls who qualified is 97.82, while for boys it is 96.98. However, students faced anxious moments as the CBSE website on which the results were posted, temporarily crashed in the afternoon due to heavy traffic. However, the problem was rectified after 4 pm.
A total of 94,474 students scored 10 CGPA (cumulative grade points average) across the country. Of them, 49,392 were boys and 45,082 were girls. Among the city schools, 35 students from DPS-Nacharam scored a perfect 10 CGPA, 21 students got 9.8, 108 students got 9 and 65 per cent scored A1 and A2 grades. Students from Johnson Grammar School, Nacharam also scored 10 CGPA.
