Tourism resort opened at Kadam
Ministers laid the foundation stone for the meeting hall to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore
Adilabad: There was no serious discussion held on public issues especially tribals as there was no MLA from the Opposition parties in the district. This was the situation seen in the governing body meeting of ITDA, Utnoor on Wednesday. No serious attempts were made by the TRS MLAs and three ministers to streamline the education system in tribal areas under ITDA, providing drinking water to the hundreds of villages facing acute drinking water shortage.
Senior MLAs and ministers attempted to calm down the MLA Durgam Chinnaiah of Bellampalli when he raised the certain issues during the governing body meeting. A much disappointed, Durgam Chinnaiah said he was helpless to raise the public issues being in the ruling party and regretted his inability to do anything. The meeting began at 12.30 pm and ended by 3 pm without any concrete steps taken. It was evident with the way the meeting was conducted.
The public representatives had no seriousness towards the issues pertaining to tribals and agency areas though a large number of tribals died of sunstroke in the tribal areas this summer. After lunch, the MLAs and two ministers Indrakaran Reddy and Jogu Ramanna discussed the arrangements for the Telangana Formation Day.
Ministers laid the foundation stone for the meeting hall to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore in KB complex. Basic amenities will be created at the tribal sports school at a cost of Rs 95 lakh, post metric hostel building in the premises of Sericulture department in Utnoor. The ministers inaugurated the two ambulances named Amma Vahanam to be stationed at Neredigonda and Tiryani to improve medical facilities in the tribal areas under ITDA and also a centre to train the tribal unemployed youth in driving. MLAs Azmeera Rekha Naik, Diwakar Rao, Vittal Reddy, Koneru Konappa, government whip Nallala Odelu, Rathod Bapurao, parliamentary secretary Kova Laxmi, and others were present.
Earlier, minister for tourism A. Chandu Lal, minister for endowments Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Azmeera Rekha Naik inaugurated the Haritha Tourism Resorts at the Kadam irrigation project site constructed by the Telangana Tourism Department. Tribal welfare secretary Aruna and MD of Telangana Tourism Corporation Dr Christina Z. Chongthu and ITDA project officer R.V Karnan were present.
