BJP's strength forced Lalu, Nitish to join hands: Amit Shah

For the last 25 years, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav were political adversaries

Panaji: BJP chief Amit Shah on Thursday said that his party was in a strong position in Bihar, which forced the former rivals Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav to come together.

"I believe that our position is good. Therefore, those who were working against each other for the last 25 years are now on one platform," Shah said, speaking to reporters here.

Assembly elections are due in Bihar this year. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and Lalu Prasad's RJD are now part of the 'reunited' Janata Parivar.

For the last 25 years, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav were political adversaries, he said.

"Because BJP is strong in the state, they have no option but to come together," he said.
