Tabu begins shooting for 'Fitoor'
A day after news of Tabu replacing Bollywood legend Rekha in ‘Fitoor’ broke, the actress was spotted on the film sets in Mumbai. Photo: Viral Bhayani- Earlier in the day, Tabu was photographed on the sets of her upcoming Ajay Devgn 'Drishyam' remake, where she will be seen playing a cop.
- Amrita Pandey was quoted in an interview saying, “Her performance has been the emotional fulcrum of the narrative, and we are very happy to have a chance to work with her again.”
- The UTV team also seem very excited to have Tabu as part of the film. The star has worked with the production company on films like 'The Namesake', 'Haider' and now 'Fitoor'.
- Director Abhishek was all praise for his latest addition to the cast, saying that he was confident that the ‘Haider’ actress would bring ‘a whole new energy to her part in 'Fitoor'’. He also said that he was ‘honoured’ have her be a part of the film.
- However, she has now been replaced by Tabu, who was the initial choice for the role. (Also seen at the venue was film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur who is the managing director of Disney India that will be producing 'Fitoor'.)
- The team recently wrapped up its shooting schedule in Alibaug, Dehli and Srinagar. According to reports Rekha even re-shot some scenes of the film in Mumbai.
- The Abhishek Kapoor-directed film, which is the Hindi adaptation of the classic novel ‘Great Expectations’ grabbed headlines for its impressive cast consisting of Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Rekha. After her cameo in R Balki’s ‘Shamitabh’,
- Film critic Rajeev Masand took to his Twitter handle to share the shocking news with a message that read, “JUST IN: Tabu replaces Rekha as the Miss Havisham character in Great Expectations adaptation 'Fitoor' starring Aditya Roy Kapoor
- In a sudden turn of events, it was learnt on Tuesday that the veteran actress had been replaced by Tabu in the film as Miss Havisham. (Seen here: Tabu hugs her former flame Sajid Nadiadwala who was at the same venue for his film 'Baagi'.)
