Mambalam, Tiruvanmiyur get railway police stations
Chennai: Railway police stations at Mambalam and Thiruvanmiyur railway station and an economic offence wing office in Guindy industrial estate are among the new facilities and building worth over Rs544 crore added to the police department by Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday when she inaugurated it through video conferencing.
The CM also announced Rs3 lakh each as solatium to family members of seven police personnel who died recently. A state government press release said that Jayalalithaa inaugurated 226 police quarters constructed at a cost of Rs 20.65 crore in Madurai. She also inaugurated police quarters costing Rs 423.50 crore, buildings for the department, police stations, fire and rescue services officials quarters, forensic lab in Tanjavur. Jayalalithaa also flagged off 52 jeeps for Chennai city police and 12 all terrain vehicles for the coastal security group.
