Mahatma Gandhi University’s initiative to help Enrol rural students

The volunteers will go to public institutions in the select villages and motivate the students for enrolling for the courses online

KOTTAYAM: In a unique initiative, the MG University will help rural students to apply for online registration of courses offered by the university. For this, National Service Scheme volunteers skilled in computer will be recruited to select the students of backward villages coming under the ambit of the university.

“Our aim is to help the rural students make use of the facilities offered by the university. The students can register for the diverse undergraduate programmes in the 180 colleges under the university,” said MG University sources. The volunteers will go to public institutions in the select villages and motivate the students for enrolling for the courses online.

The online registration will start by Thursday under the Common Admission Process by which the students can apply for various courses through a single shot. They will also be given directions by the help desks apart from the seven information centres of the university.

The students can remit the registration fees at the 180 branches of the State Bank of Travancore.
