KT Rama Rao sees Rs 3,000 crore investment

He said Brand Hyderabad is already established

Hyderabad: MNCs in United States are ready to make investments to the tune of Rs 3,000 crore in IT and other sectors in Telangana, IT and panchayat raj minister, K.T. Rama Rao said here on Tuesday.

Mr Rama Rao, who returned to the city after a three week tour of United States to woo investors to Telangana and explain opportunities available, such as sufficient availability of power, water, infrastructure facilities and excellent investment climate, said he met representatives of 30 corporates who evinced keen interest in investing in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.

“There is a need to introduce the new state of Telangana to the world. We have to tell them about the opportunities, resources, opportunities in establishment of industries, IT among others. There has not been much development and growth rate in the last 5/6 years as it should be,” he said at Shamshabad airport.

Mr Rama Rao said the US was a world power and there was need to inform Americans about the profitable investment opportunities in Hyderabad and Telangana state.

“I had gone with good intention. There was tremendous response. I am confident there would be huge investments in Telangana in the future. I am quite confident about this,” he said.

He said Brand Hyderabad is already established. Brand Hyderabad is already there. Hyderabad was established 425 years ago.

“Individuals don’t have to do it now. But we have to promote the city, opportunities, infrastructure available among others,” he added.

“You will see huge change next year,” he added. Mr Rama Rao will meet Tata group chairman Cyrus Mistry in Mumbai on Wednesday to discuss Tata’s expansion plans including launch of a new Incubation Centre in a fortnight. He will inaugurate a science academy on June 2 here.
