Flyovers at Vytilla and Kundannoor work to start on October 1
KOCHI: The work on the much awaited flyovers at Kundannoor and Vytilla junctions would commence on October 1. Public Works Minister V.K. Ebrahim Kunju told reporters here on Tuesday that the work on the flyovers would be based on the engineering, procurement and construction model (EPC Model). The two projects were estimated to cost Rs 189 crore, the minister said.
The EPC contractors for the projects would be selected on the basis of a tender, he added. The minister said that the project would be implemented by utilizing the money accrued to the PWD through the collection of Rs 1 cess per litre of petrol and diesel in the state.
The Pullppady-Thammanam NH Road, estimated to cost Rs 300 crore, would be implemented on the annuity scheme, he said. The minister however declined to specify a date for the commencement of the work on this project.
