Tirupati: Taking part in a programme organised by BJP to celebrate the completion of one year in the office at Tirupati on Tuesday, Union Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has said that the Centre should provide Rs 23,000 crore to AP to overcome its budget deficit.
He said that AP, Bihar and West Bengal states have been facing Budget deficits in the country. While attributing the scams and various issues affecting the nation to the previous Congress regime, he said that the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the need of the hour to develop the country.
He reminded that there was no single scam after Modi took the reins of the centre. Taking strong objection against Congress statements over dressing style of the PM, he alleged that the Congress leaders lost balance after losing power in the state and the Centre.
Blaming Congress for encouraging black money, he said that the BJP government was the first to take initiative to bring back black money stacked in the banks abroad. Mr Raju said that the BJP initiative led to the flow of 42 per cent of funds to the state and 5 per cent to the local bodies.
Speaking on the occasion, forest minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy said that the union government accorded forest clearance for Handri Neeva project. BJP leader Somu Veerraju, Chittoor district unit TD president G. Srinivasulu, BJP senior leaders Santha Reddy, Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Anjaneya Reddy and Jalimi Madhusudan were present among others.
